Hi,

Some of the names of locations on and around the lake are fairly obvious, Pleasant Cove, Sawtooth Cove, Pine Point, Broad Cove, etc. Others must have a history. Can anyone provide some insights on how the following areas acquired their names?

Meader's Point?
Elly Cove?
Adder Hole?

Others?

Good questions/food for thought. I don't know. My mother would say Adder Hole was name after snakes (her least favorite creature). We have some water snakes periodically visiting the east end which always creates some excitement...... but I'm pretty sure they are not adders.

Meader's Point was named after the former Mayor of Rochester whose house was there
