The caption on the back of this reads, "Merrymeeting Lake is one of the more delightful in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. Its unusual name dates back to around 1770 when a small group of grantees exploring this territory had a meeting and a feast at this spot."

and here's another one....it SAYS that it is Merrymeeting but it sure doesn't look like Merrymeeting.

Thanks McDude. I'd have to agree it doesn't look much like Merrymeeting. Last time I was there I didn't find a place on the lake where you couldn't see the opposite shoreline! :rolleyes:
