As our house is seasonal, we unfortunately need to shut down from mid-Oct until mid-April. I've been meaning to post this note on 2 notable things we saw during our last cruise around the lake on Columbus Day weekend. One bad, one great,
To the guy in Broad Cove, with the lush green lawn that covers the whole lot up to the waterline, whom we saw using his Scott's spreader to broadcast more fertilizer, can you stop?
The negative effects of fertilzers on the lake are well documented. While this is an extreme example, what you are doing is not helping!

A bit later, still in the Broad Cove area, we watched an eagle swoop down from the hillside and grab a fish out of the lake. He/she was only about 50 yards away from us. It was a sight to see!
The bird then flew toward Sawtooth Cove and up into the high ridges above before settling into the trees to, presumably, enjoy the meal.
We assume it was a young bird as it was fairly small and struggled a bit to carry the fish. But impressive nonetheless.
